Verdict

Mackerye End is an obvious one to keep an eye on having been purchased for £62,000 after finishing runner-up in a point at Dromahane last December. Byron Blue won two minor events on very fast ground in the summer and wouldn't want any rain but Henllan Harri will love the conditions as he completed a double on similar ground at Ffos Las before finding Grade 2 company beyond him at Chepstow. Dual point-to-point winner THE TOURARD MAN is still a maiden under Rules but receives 14lb from the two winners in the line-up. He didn't run well at Warwick last time but a repeat of his earlier run at Exeter would give him the edge.
