Verdict

No-one could begrudge Mondo Cane a first victory under Rules and he was second in the novice hurdle on this card 12 months ago, though seems better over fences. The Kvilleken has ability but hasn't shown much in his last three starts while Newcastle third Oscar O'Scar is in need of further help from the handicapper. Sand Artist has been placed a couple of times over fences but his form over hurdles is pretty modest. BROOME LANE has only had five career starts and was still a little green at Chepstow last time. But her stamina will stand her in good stead here so she might be the one to beat.
