In depth

Verdict

Vanquisher gets the confident vote in this maiden with Thunderbolt Jaxon and Cheeky Jack rating the main dangers. The selection was a fair second behind Gulf Express last time out, that form sets the standard in the context of this race and from a good draw he looks the one to be on. Thunderbolt Jaxon rates the main danger on his latest second behind Thabbut, he looks sure to improve for the step up in trip and should be watched in the market. Cheeky Jack is another that could go well as he looks sure to improve on his debut running but the suspicion is he will be seen to better effect once handicaped. Of the remainder Idle No More is a well bred sort from a shrewd yard and is another to note in the market but for the winner we return to Vanquisher who sets a fair standard and will be hard to beat.
