The step up to a mile can help Firebird Rising finally get off the mark. Mexican and Lady At Leisure are expected to give her the most to do. The latter has already won at this level but may be slightly better over a longer trip, while Mexican is well suited to a mile on the Flat and, with a fair bit of course experience to his name, he should be capable of going close again today. Another to closely monitor is Sir Bond, who is very lightly raced and hails from a yard that can get one ready after a long absence. However, a mile could also be on the sharp side for this Desert Sun gelding and he might just need this to put him straight.
