The Doorman was only beaten a length over a longer trip at Catterick earlier this month. He’s been raised a couple of pounds but is getting closer to a first win over timber. Wylde Magic’s fourth at Ascot read well in a race like this and he doesn’t have many miles on the clock. MAN OF PLENTY (NAP) was only beaten a neck over 2m at Taunton last month and showed his versatility when going close over 3m at Musselburgh on New Year’s Day. This intermediate distance could prove ideal and he’s probably the one to beat as long as the going doesn’t deteriorate. Grey Monk looked to be on the way back at Market Rasen 11 days ago and also warrants a mention.
