Big things were expected of Russian War over fences this season but he failed to land the odds on his chasing bow at Newton Abbot and fell when favourite at Listowel next time. This is a drop in class but his confidence looks fragile and, at the likely odds, he may be worth opposing with BROTHER BOB. The latter went close on a couple of occasions in decent company over timber last term but, as a half-brother to Kerry National winner Native Performance, was always going to do better over the larger obstacles and he has more scope than most of these. Get It On is also interesting making his debut over fences and makes more appeal than winning pointer Tax Benefit and Rolecarr on this occasion.
