      Verdict

Another race thin on quality and competition and this should fall to PEMBERTON to see off Greenbelt. The Howard Johnson-trained pick is rated around a stone better than his chief rival if he can transfer his hurdling abilities to the bigger obstacles. Cut in the ground suits him, and we can probably put a line through his hefty defeat on bottomless ground at Haydock last time as the trip may have stretched him too far. The drop back to this trip will be ideal and he is sure to have been well schooled, so we will take him to score. Greenbelt was a shade disappointing at Carlisle a few days ago, but his previous chase run showed a fair bit of promise and if he can run to that form again on ground that suits then he would be entitled to give the pick something to think about. Ginger's Lad can show improvement for his chase debut here earlier in the month, while Cinaman has conditions to suit for his introduction to fences, but the one to beat here is Pemberton.
