In depth

Verdict

Joe di Capo can make amends for a recent luckless outing, with Tam O'Shanter, Just Strong, Little Brown Bear and Broadgate Flyer making for an interesting contest. There are quite a few that could win this, but Joe di Capo gets the nod as he was going as well as anything when unseating his pilot at the 10th here six days ago. It was hard to say whether he would have won or not but he remains very well handicapped these days, and gets another chance to recoup losses. He has also never won over today's trip but has stayed on well at the end of three miles plus in the past so should have no worries on that score. Tam O' Shanter has his first outing over fences in three years, but ran well enough when second over timber here six days ago, and is a previous course and distance winner. Just Strong would surely have finished behind Joe di Capo had the latter stayed upright last time so appears held, while Little Brown Bear finished a creditable fifth in the Durham National so is on e for the short-list. Broadgate Flyer goes on the fast ground and has the assistance of Richard Johnson so cannot be ruled out of calculations either, but we shall give another chance to Joe di Capo.
