In depth

Verdict

King Fontaine came right back to form when second to Monsieur Cadou at Haydock. He's 16lb lower than when third in last year's Scottish Grand National and must go close if the blinkers have the desired effect. Leac An Scail has stamina in abundance while Call It On has been in great form, though is upped in class now. GULLIBLE GORDON came in for significant market support in the Topham at Aintree and ran well until fading on the run-in. This is more his trip and, with the ground in his favour, Peter Bowen's stayer can end his long losing run. The Thirsty Bricky and General Hardi look to have place prospects again while Nodform Richard is less exposed than most and can't be ignored.
