In depth

Verdict

This is a tricky maiden chase and a narrow vote is given to Iris De Balme, Ballyboley and Iron Warrior may provide most danger. Iris De Balme has come up against a couple of decent types in two recent novice events. He was beaten six lengths by the 123 rated Snakebite, before almost getting the better of Passenger Omar at Warwick. He stayed on strongly in that contest and will be well suited by the extra furlong and testing ground. Ballyboley had no chance against Fair Question last time out but was well clear of the third. This is more his company and a big run can be expected. Iron Warrior has shown enough in three competitive races to warrant respect here and Swift Thyne hails from a top yard and has to be watched in the betting for his first race under rules. However the best overall form has been shown by Iris De Balme and he is selected.
