Verdict

Newquay Cards was only headed approaching the last when fourth behind Trooblue here last month but Sue Smith’s charge proved no match for all-the-way winner JOKERS AND ROGUES over course and distance subsequently and also finished behind the likes of Roxyfet, Bertielicious and Duhallowcountry. Ken Slack’s top weight has been raised 10lb since that clear-cut success but will take some pegging back if getting loose on the front end again. Don Des Fosses is a potential fly-in-the-ointment given he’s won a point and a bumper, though was tailed off on his fencing bow.
