In depth

Verdict

Tim Walford's Lawaaheb has to be of interest on his belated reappearance having not been seen since May as he has trip and ground conditions to suit and does not seem to be too badly treated but preference is for Ferdy Murphy's VIEL GLUCK, with Nina Carberry booked for the ride, and gets the vote over Manoubi. Martin Todhunter's gelding also has the benefit of one of the better amateur pilots with Oliver Greenhall taking the mount as he did when the gelding chased home Something Silver at Ayr last time and he has an obvious chance off the same mark today. Mick Easterby's Impact Zone is lightly raced but needs to improve, while Toulouse Express is probably better over further. Tim Vaughan's Cloudier made a pleasing return at Taunton last month and again has ground conditions to suit so he has to be considered but a better bet looks to be Viel Gluck. Ferdy Murphy's gelding has become expensive to follow but he is 9lbs better in for six lengths with Manoubi on their running at Hexham last month and he looks worth supporting to gain an overdue first success.
