Verdict

Rebecca Menzies can not be blamed for trying to strike again while the iron is hot with NORTONTHORPELEGEND, who followed up a Catterick win with victory at Wetherby. He’s a previous course and distance winner who is still well treated, despite a penalty which is negated by his rider’s claim. Sideways also carries 7lb for winning over a much shorter trip at Fakenham but did finish well ahead of the disappointing Cabragh over 3m2f at Ffos Las before that. Crank Em Up is a dour stayer but still 4lb higher than for his last victory at Wincanton more than 12 months ago.
