In depth

Verdict

Another interesting race for the track and one where we will side with San Peire to be good enough, while Jethro Tull, Villago and General Duroc all have things to recommend them. San Peire loves this place, particularly over this trip, having won chases and hurdles here when there is cut in the ground. His pipe opener last time, when he finished eight lengths adrift of the useful Ungaro will have put him spot on for the step back up to his best trip and he can make it count. Jethro Tull is another soft ground lover who stays really well, as his course and distance win last time suggests. A 5lb rise for that win makes this tougher though, while Villago's win over 2m 6f here last time suggested that he too will benefit from further, so he is also interesting if handling this softer ground. General Duroc also has conditions and trip to suit, but he may just have too much weight here, and we fancy San Peire to be too good.
