Verdict

The Yank made a winning debut over the larger obstacles at Southwell but probably didn't beat much and, despite carrying a penalty, is still racing from out of the handicap here. MR BURGEES was a rare recent winner for the Donald McCain yard at Cartmel in July. He'd also run well on his first start over fences at Worcester and is favourably treated on hurdles form with chasing newcomers Oliver's Gold, Little Pop and Heist so gets the nod.
