Verdict

A raft of impressive maiden winners contest this contest and the likes of The Cheka and Parisian Art are sure to be popular but CRY OF FREEDOM may be the way to go. Only one of the last ten winners of this race was having their second start and Raven's Pass became the first winning favourite in the same period last year. There's a possibility that the impressive maiden winners have been overbet following clearcut wins and that this will be the first time that they've had to put their heads down and race. Cry Of Freedom learnt plenty from his course and distance win as he showed when impressing in a Listed race at Newbury. His maiden form could hardly have worked out worse and the Newbury race may not be as strong as has historically been the case but he's done everything asked of him and won't go down without a fight. The Cheka ran away from the field at Ascot, Parisian Art did the same at Newmarket and Prince Siefgfried at Salisbury but none of the races have worked out all that well so far. Sri Putra and Patrician's Glory had to work harder for their respective victories at Newbury but the latter's race has produced a couple of winners and the form could stack up. Instalment sets the standard following his effort in the Vintage Stakes and that form looks solid with second placed Lord Shanakill taking third in a Group 1 at Deauville, fourth placed Soul City winning a Listed race at the same track and fifth placed Shaweel landing the Gimcrack. His chances are respected but those of Cry Of Freedom are preferred.
