Two of the last three favourites have won this though there have been plenty of shocks in the race including two years ago when the French-trained Gloomy Sunday won at 20/1 with High Jinx back in fourth. The latter had a much better campaign last year but has a Group 1 penalty for his victory in the Prix Du Cadran at Longchamp and could do with some rain. Forgotten Voice hasn't won beyond 1m4f on the Flat but is a useful hurdler and should have no problems with the trip but Simenon, who completed a famous Royal Ascot double back in 2012, hasn't run since scoring over hurdles at Tipperary last July. Trip To Paris completed a hat-trick in the Chester Cup and deserves his first crack at pattern race company but this could rest between the two placed in Ascot's Sagaro Stakes last month, VENT DE FORCE and Forever Now. They finished behind Gold Cup hope Mizzou that day and with the runner-up looking a very progressive stayer he's just given the vote over John Gosden's charge, who is also going the right way.
