Previous results

In depth

Formwatch

Beau (IRE) Unlucky to lose reigns in Grand National when travelling well; bold front runner who should take all the beating.

Inn At The Top Looks to have been laid out for this race and although not guaranteed to stay must be in with an excellent chance.

Kingsmark (IRE) has been well supported this week; won well at Aintree earlier this month but not guaranteed to stay this far.

Jocks Cross (IRE) Welsh National winner who is as tough as they come; will appreciate this trip and ground but could lack the class to take this event.

Double Thriller Has not won for over two years but showed signs last time that he is better for the wind operation he has had done; strong place claims.

Arctic Camper Lightly-raced gelding who should be a lot fitter than when pulling up at Aintree last time; could be the dark horse in the race to upset a few of the more fancied runners.

Addington Boy (IRE) Tough stayer but has not been at his best in recent outings and others preferred.

Browjoshy (IRE) Can put up some decent efforts when in the mood but has a tendency to run some stinkers; not one to rely upon.

What's Up Boys (IRE) Won a valuable race at Aintree earlier this month and has done little wrong all season; progressive type who may be ahead of the handicapper; excellent chance.

Dark Stranger (FR) Mainly consistent type but his jumping can be a bit suspect; unlucky at Aintree last time and has an outsider's chance here.

The Land Agent Has been trained with this race in mind and should be spot on; an outsider worth considering.

Ad Hoc (IRE) Excellent effort last time in Scottish National but this race comes very close to that race and he may lack the freshness of some of these.

Djeddah (FR) French raider who has not won for over two years; has consequently dropped to a respectable mark and could spring a surprise for formidable trainer.

Heidi III (FR) Winner of the Great Yorkshire Chase; this would be a dream result for retiring trainer Mickey Hammond but whether this horse will stay is another matter.

The Last Fling (IRE) Showed up for long way in Scottish National but would prefer the ground a lot softer.

Storm Damage (IRE) On the evidence of his remote fifth to Gower Slave over the National fences earlier this month this gelding looks badly handicapped and looks one to avoid in this competitive affair.

Pennybridge (IRE) Will appreciate the ground getting faster and is an exciting jumper to watch; may take on Beau for the lead but should not be there at the finish.

Mighty Moss (IRE) Excellent jumper and stayer who should put in a good round for his owner/jockey; good place possibilities.

No Retreat (NZ) Rarely finishes these days and not to be trusted.

Samuel Wilderspin Decent chaser on his day but may lack a turn of pace in the finish; others preferred.

Mister One Will enjoy this ground and should stay the trip but faces tough task at weights.

Folly Road (IRE) Bare form suggests this horse will not be good enough.

Scotton Green No real chance at weights.

Kings Cherry (IRE) Has not shown enough form this season to give him a real chance.

Shagreen (IRE) Unlikely winner or runner-up.
