Verdict

The market has proved to be an accurate guide to this race over the years so a check is advised but it would be no surprise to see SHIP'S BISCUIT and Fatanah dominating the market although Sonnellino can reasonably be expected to improve on her debut. John Gosden's filly showed clear signs of inexperience at Newbury so much depends on how quickly she's learning the ropes but she did finish off the race nicely and, given her pedigree, connections may be hopeful that they can pinch some black type later in the season. Fatanah is also bred in the purple given that her dam is from the family of Nashwan and Nayef but there must be a slight question mark about her ability to see out this trip although it's probably wise to trust her handler who could hardly be in better form. In spite of that, marginal preference at this stage is for the mount of Ryan Moore who appears to be the first string of the Stoute trained trio. She was just behind the more experienced Fantastic Cruix on debut but showed promise in abundance and Ship's Biscuit is expected to follow in the illustrious hoofsteps of close relatives Warringah and Hi Calypso.
