In depth

Verdict

A decent contest to go out on should see quite a few in with a shout as they turn for home. The Names Bond has been getting closer and closer this term and had the misfortune to come up against Claude Greengrass at Doncaster on a day when Jonjo O'Neill's charge was on a retrieval mission. Any move for that stable's Mylo should not go unnoticed either. We'll Make It comes from the yard that sent out Tikram to be third in the Tote Gold Trophy, so expect a bold show. Mamideos absolutely hacked up on his debut over hurdles at Market Rasen but did not beat much, and although open to more improvement, may find one too good in the shape of Standing Bloom. Pam Sly's mare was value for more than the narrow verdict she gained over Backview at Warwick last month, and as she can race off just 95, must go close. The form looks solid, with the third Jim Bell, trotting up at Catterick on Saturday, and the faster ground will not be a problem, according to the trainer, who reckons that the mare has come to hand at just the right time. Warren Marston was offered the ride and has gladly taken up the option.
