Nonrunner
A fascinating finale where INCENDO is taken to bounce back to form and he heads a short-list which also includes Brooklyn Spirit and Grey Granite. Highland Legacy looks to be the solid runner in the race but he may prove vulnerable to an improver such as Sumbe who hasn't shown the slightest sign of delivering on his evident talent but steps up in trip on a 10lb lower mark than for his reappearance. Brooklyn Spirit is another potential improver for the stiffer test with cheekpieces added whilst Pathos is a fascinating runner on his return from a lengthy absence. Northumberland Plate entry Grey Granite isn't certain to get the trip but could well go close if he does although he has raced prominently in the past and there appears to be no shortage of pace on here which could play into the hands of Incendo. He never got into contention from off the pace at York but this track is far more conducive for hold-up performers and there are parts of his pedigree which suggest that he could well improve for his first run beyond a mile and a half and the booking of William Buick is a big positive.
