In depth

Verdict

Certainly Red was an easy winner at Wincanton at the start of last month and a 5lb rise looks fair. Precious Eleanor’s run at Market Rasen should have blown away a few cobwebs but Sopran Thor is having a first run since April last year. GEMIRANDE certainly wasn’t winning out of turn at Southwell in November and the second has franked the form since. Venetia Williams’ mare jumps well and may enjoy herself around here. Scipion was making his chasing debut when third at Uttoxeter so there should be more to come but these tricky fences may test Peejaybee and High Stakes.
