A bumper entry for the Grade 3 handicap. Orbys Legend beat Flemcara and If The Cap Fits at Wincanton on Boxing Day but is 5lb higher here. Padleyourowncanoe is 10lb better off than when third behind Jesuitique at Haydock in December and had excuses when pulled up over fences at Warwick subsequently. Dans Le Vent has improved again this season and should run his race again, though was behind Call Me Lord in the Lanzarote at Kempton. Green Book started joint favourite for that contest but was badly hampered and unseated his rider in the early stages. He’d been progressing nicely earlier and isn’t out of this. THE BRIMMING WATER beat Unexpected Party at Wetherby two runs ago with the second winning easily off a 6lb higher mark at Ascot subsequently. Sam Drinkwater’s charge didn’t quite run up to that mark at Haydock last time but still looks ahead of the handicapper. The latter comment may also apply to the hat-trick seeking Ree Okka and Beauport also looks to be on an upward curve. The lightly-raced Born Patriot also has claims.
