In depth

Verdict

The going was good to soft when EXAMINER (NAP) won off this mark at Epsom a year ago so recent rain is very much in his favour and he was back on song at Epsom last time. Manson is possibly still a couple of pounds too high and is having his first run since March and Sir Roderic also needs some help from the handicapper but Wind In My Sails looked to be coming to hand at Newbury and Takatul completed a hat-trick when successful here last August and won on Polytrack in the spring. Morning Suit appears to be in the handicapper’s grip but you can never rule out a Mark Johnston runner in races like this.
