Verdict

Hawridge Prince looked progressive when scoring at Newbury on his seasonal return and he can land the opener, with his biggest fear represented by Analyze. The Gerald Cottrell-trained gelding showed a great deal of promise at three and confirmed that might cosily winning a 19-runner handicap at Newbury. With the second having won since, the form has a solid look and, with a four-pound rise in the ratings hardly seeming excessive, he can win again. Analyze gained his most-recent win in August of last year, when trained by Mick Channon. He should go well but has been running well without winning from revised marks and remains three pounds higher than for his best-yet handicap success. Blue Mariner steps into handicap company for the first time following a fair effort over today's trip at Leicester last time. However, that race is hard to quantify as it was run at a false pace. Yeoman Lad ought to stay this trip, although his sole run to date over it was disappointing. He has, however, been dropped three pounds for his latest run, which was a reasonable effort behind Best Before at Windsor. Like Analyze, My Galliano is trained by Brendan Powell, but this one looks to have a few pounds to find to feature. Once again, then, the selection is Hawridge Prince.
