In depth

Verdict

The decision to geld POW WOW reaped immediate dividends when the son of Medicean landed a course and distance handicap last month on his first start since the operation. He did not look the most straightforward at times on that occasion but should progress again. He is raised 6lb for that victory but Kieran Shoemark's claim will offset half of that. Eolian ran well on his first start for Andrew Balding before seemingly running rather flat next time up. First-time cheekpieces are applied and he now tackles quick ground for the first time since finding some form. See The Sea may well benefit from forecast faster conditions while Zoffanist and Theglasgowwarrior could both improve for first attempts in handicap company.
