In depth

Verdict

This looks tricky as though Dodgy Bob and General Alexander would have a chance on their best form, both are ridden by inexperienced claimers. Pontefract winner Wilde Extravagance is only 3lb higher and Athollblair Boy and Penny Pot Lane were placed last time and come into the reckoning. Tim Easterby has the top weight and bottom weight in Bossipop and Ponty Royale but neither have sparkled recently. EBONY N IVORY started favourite for a Leicester handicap after making a winning debut at Salisbury but was only fourth. However, he ran well considering his lack of experience and could recoup losses here.
