Verdict

Tim Easterby's pair at the bottom of the handicap, Poet's Dawn and Give It Some Teddy, are both course winners who ran well on their comebacks. Shigar has only had five runs and is only 2lb higher than his victory on Polytrack at Lingfield last July. DARKNESS, three times a winner on soft ground in France, has yet to win for David O'Meara but has dropped to a winnable mark and was staying on over 7f on his return to action at Redcar so looks the one to beat. Oh Herberts Reign is on a long losing run but has dropped to a lowly mark as a consequence and isn't out of this.
