        Verdict

        KATHAB made a winning handicap debut when beating previous winner Diamondonthehill comfortably enough at Haydock. The Haggas grey can defy a rise in the weights in this before heading for next month’s Cambridgeshire. Another Batt has landed a recent double on soft ground though found Isla Kai too good over track and trip early in the year and the latter is back on a winning mark. James Mchenry drops back down in trip with blinkers applied while course regular Garden Oasis won this in 2021 though was well beaten in last year’s renewal.
