Verdict

The Michael Dods-trained Shrink lost no caste in defeat on his reappearance at Thirsk and should come on a bundle for that outing so with ground conditions to suit and a decent draw he gets the vote ahead of the old campaigner Henry Hall and Strensall. The last mentioned has slipped to a fair mark now and is reasonably well treated but could have faired better with the draw so may be best watched. Christine Dunnett's Kennington could not be better berthed having drawn stall one and is better fancied than stablemate Gone'n'dunnett, who by comparison has been drawn in stall 13. Fayr Sky is less exposed than most of these and has to be considered although a bigger threat may come from Henry Hall, who has shown gradual improvement of late and comes from a yard in good from. Shrink holds solid claims on the pick of his form though and he gets the vote to resume winning ways.
