      Verdict

The connections of African Sahara obviously think their charge is at the top of his game at the moment and he will be of interest if he turns out again after his exertions at Redcar yesterday. However, this is a much tougher assignment and he is passed over in favour of the lightly weighted Only For Gold, who has dropped to an incredibly low mark if consideration of his best form is taken in. Basinet and Friday's Takings are other to consider if supported, whereas Second Venture could also be a threat if he puts it all in today. However, Only For Gold appeals as the sporting option to make the most of the handicapper's leniency with him in, what is a wide open contest. The eight-year-old has won off a mark of 73 in the past and has faced much stiffer tests than this during his time. So each way backers could well have a field day if the selection runs anywhere near his past form.
