Lord Reason had been threatening to win for a while before doing so at Brighton on Friday and a 6lb higher mark is unlikely to prevent another big run. LAWYER was placed off a mark of 83 a year ago and was down to 67 when just failing to catch Mr Cool Cash at Beverley on Saturday. He's on the same mark here and looks to have a winning chance. Cliff is still a maiden after 21 starts but has been placed nine times and it would be no great shock if he finally got on the scoresheet. Newmarket Warrior is also a maiden and ran a shocker at Carlisle last time though he'd done much better on soft ground earlier so if the going eases he'd be on the shortlist.
