Verdict

FOOTLIGHT had been in very good form on the all-weather before a comprehensive victory at Catterick last week and a 6lb penalty is unlikely to prevent a quick double. The Knave had shown some potential in his first season and returned with a cracking run at Nottingham where he just failed to peg back Zebedee's Son, who was receiving 11lb. Stone Quercus didn't have much chance against the in-form Nietzsche at Nottingham but led for a long way over that 1m2f and this is probably his trip. Intalza's best run in her first season was when runner-up on soft ground over this track and trip so it would be no surprise to see her in contention from 2lb lower.
