Verdict

A small but very competitive field for the richest race on the card. Likely favourite is John Dunlop's King Eider, who may well be up to the step-up in grade after a good win over the same trip at Sandown last time. His pedigree suggests that he should be better suited to shorter distances than this (by Mtoto), and it may be that this is the limit of his stamina. He may still be good enough here though. Of his four rivals, All Business is another who looks like 14 furlongs is also the limit. Dropped in class after a good run in defeat at Thirsk last time, she has a decent chance if she gets the trip. Of the remainder, Loop The Loup and Red River Rebel have recent wins to their names, though the latter disappointed when a beaten favourite next time. Neither can be dismissed lightly however, particularly the top weight, who won easily when last out on the flat at Doncaster in June.
