Verdict

Forest Ranger is a half-brother to the stable's useful miler Home Cummins and may be the biggest danger to likely hot favourite RAY'S THE MONEY. The Newmarket raider was only fifth at Chester last time when market leader but that was a much stronger contest than this and he'd earlier only found a couple of decent juveniles too strong at Ascot and Goodwood – a visor should help him keep on the straight and narrow here. Pennington led until halfway on his debut at Chelmsford but weakened rapidly once headed and may do better next year.
