In depth

Verdict

Plenty with claims in this including Duke Of Firenze, making a quick reappearance after scoring at Thirsk last Saturday and he carries 4lb extra. Makanah also scored at Thirsk earlier this month and is taken to confirm running with runner-up Bowson Fred but the former found MERRY BANTER too good over course and distance in October. Paul Midgley’s mare was beaten a length in last year’s renewal and another bold bid is expected from her. Bossipop and Venturous arrive on the back of victories over 6f while Blue De Vega is not out of this either after a good effort in a tougher sprint at Goodwood last time.
