In depth

Verdict

Briary Mac is nicely positioned taking into account the 'weight for age' conditions but is unproven over the trip and RASCAL IN THE MIX may still be worth siding with going for three wins in a row with Silly Gilly offered as an alternative. The selection has shown vast improvement with the cheek-pieces applied and Amy Ryan seems to bring out the best in the filly so we side with her today. The trainer and jockey combination for Silly Gilly do not have the best of statistics but the six-year-old mare has put in decent runs lately and is worth noting. Billy Cray takes the ride on Very Well Red but runs off top weight and is difficult to have any confidence in given that for every good run she puts in she delivers more poor efforts. Briary Mac has the advantage in the weights but may still struggle after weakening over lesser trips. Our preference is for Rascal In The Mix.
