Verdict

Eton comes here bang in form, which is more than can be said for most of the field, and he looks good enough to take this despite topweight, with perhaps Face The Limelight and Rojabaa best of the rest. The selection, trained by 'Dandy' Nicholls, made the most of a 3lb drop to stay on well and beat Makulu in a 10 furlong claimer at York last week. Racing off the same mark, he looks sure to go very well once again on ground that he will relish, and now he has hit form he should not be opposed. Face The Limelight is well in with the selection at these weights on official ratings. However, the Quest For Fame gelding has not won since landing a Folkestone Handicap off this mark over a year ago. On that form he would have a clear chance, but he has not been in anything like that sort of fettle lately, though he could make the frame in a race where few make appeal. Of the others, Rojabaa won a couple of sellers last backend and was given a pipe opener in handicap company at Yarmouth last time out, when not disgraced. He has plenty to find with the other pair, as does Erte, and they may both have to scrap for a bit of prize money in a race that won't be drawing a record attendance at Redcar this season. For the winner of it we will side with Eton to follow up.
