In depth

Verdict

Atlantic Ace was narrowly beaten over this distance last time and can come good here. He has so far improved for each run and, with William Haggas's stable in such good form, looks the safest option. Amanda Perrett runs two in this race, both of them newcomers. Competitor is by the promising Australian sire Danzero, and Drizzle is by Hector Protector but out of a high-class mare that stayed 12 furlongs. It is difficult to gauge just how good they might be. Titus Salt, who steps straight up to a mile following his debut run, should improve with that experience under his belt. Desert Story is the most experienced in the line-up and, while displaying some ability, it will be disappointing if Atlantic Ace, who gets our vote, does not have her measure.
