Verdict

Champagne Cracker and Green Ridge have arguably the best form but neither are certain to handle the conditions, judged by their pedigree, and preference is for Extremely Rare. The selection made an encouraging start to her career when chasing home Place Cowboy at Catterick and probably ran better than her finishing position would suggest when down the field at Southwell subsequently. Being by Mark Of Esteem, out of a College Chapel mare, Extremely Rare should handle the cut in the ground and is preferred to Champagne Cracker. Linda Perratt's filly has shown a similar level of form in all six starts so far but it has all been on a fast surface and she is far from certain to handle the conditions. A similar comment applies to Paul d'Arcy's Green Ridge, for who the booking of Kevin Darley takes the eye. Palvic Moon showed enough at Pontefract in heavy ground last month to suggest that she could play a part in the finish but, in another poor contest, it is Extremely Rare who gets the vote.
