In depth

Verdict

A few interesting types on show here and notebooks should be kept close to hand. However, Imprint, who ran as if needing a couple of extra furlongs on his debut at Newcastle, is given the chance to redeem himself today. The Mark Of Esteem colt has a lofty home reputation and should be seen in a better light over this sort of trip. Salisbury Plain will be a popular selection and he too should have benefited from his first outing last month. However, he didn't look to be the most resolute of characters and is not one to go overboard about at cramped odds. Red Romeo is one to bear in mind for an each way bet to nothing if anything above 5/1 is available, whereas Ace Coming is already exposed and is passed over today. Market moves for any of the newcomers could prove to be significant but Imprint may be the safest option now that his stable's runners are really beginning to fire again.
