In depth

Verdict

Top weight MR RAINBOW gains the narrow vote to land the feature race on the card at the expense of Pendragon and Dubai Dynamo. Alan Swinbank has his team of horse in fine form at present and although the turf flat season is still young a number of his horses have been catching the eye. Mr Rainbow was good enough to get off the mark on his debut outing at Wolverhampton and was not discredited at Salisbury after finishing second to a horse that had lots more experience. He looks a horse with a bright future and connections don't seen afraid of carrying top weight on his seasonal debut. Pendragon has been progressive on the all weather this winter and bids for a four timer today. He has however risen seventeen pounds in the ratings since the start of his purple patch and with a career high mark to conquer a personal best will be required. Dubai Dynamo has been a consistent performer over the past couple of seasons winning five times in his career to date. He proved his wellbeing after finishing third of nineteen in a competitive handicap on the opening day of the turf season at Doncaster last weekend and another bold bid can be expected. Mr Rainbow remains the most unexposed horse in the race and with more to come form this progressive sort he gains the narrow vote.
