Verdict

ELYSIAN PLAINS and Smiling Eliza give Gordon Elliott a very strong hand here. The pair met at Killarney in August when the former had seven lengths to spare off exactly the same terms as today, though the latter improved on much faster ground to score at Down Royal before a fair run in a Perth handicap. The selection took a fierce hold when unseating his rider at the first at Gowran next time but can gain compensation here. Let It Go Papa ran very well when third in that latter event and looks like doing much better than he did on the Flat while Our Legend wasn't far behind in fourth with Rince Deireanach and Nancy D'Alton well beaten. Dawn Hoofer is rated 88 on the level after winning four times for Jim Bolger so she looks best of the newcomers but Far Reach only got as far as the first on his hurdling debut at Down Royal.
