Verdict

Flemenstar beat Sir Des Champs five lengths in a three-runner race for this in 2012 but it will be a shock if he can come up trumps in this strong field. Foxrock was narrowly beaten in the Hennessy here in February and will be much sharper after a run over timber a fortnight ago. Gilgamboa, who won three from five over hurdles, has the same strike-rate over fences and his victory over The Tullow Tank in the Grade 1 Ryanair at Fairyhouse in April was the highlight so far. Valseur Lido was a long way behind in that race but that was nowhere near his form as he proved when landing a Grade 1 here subsequently. He's a very smart prospect but so is his stable companion DJAKADAM and he can make a successful reappearance. Still only a six-year-old, he ran the race of his life behind Coneygree in the Cheltenham Gold Cup and though unable to cope with Don Cossack in the Irish version on this track next time is likely to show it was still a superb effort. Hidden Cyclone has won 13 times but his jumping has let him down on occasions and he was again deliberate at his fences when landing a Navan Grade 2 last month.
