Verdict

Purcell's Bridge, a good fourth at Cork in March, can improve but Black Zorro's second to Waaheb at Limerick is easily the best form on view and he will take some beating. However, there are some potentially useful sorts amongst the newcomers and he may have to settle for a place again. Willie Mullins has won this twice in recent years and can take it again via MR CARSON, a half-brother to numerous winners including several decent performers on the Flat and out of a mare who won over 7f. Johannisberger is bred to be smart on the Flat and is definitely on the short-list but both Shinrock Beat and The Westener Boy, though hailing from yards that do well in these events, have pedigrees that suggest they will do better when tackling hurdles and fences.
