Mahasi looks best of those with previous experience ahead of Spuradich and Sir Sydney with newcomer Strategy a danger in an interesting maiden. Henry Cecil's Mahasi is closely related to the top class Shiva and made a pleasing introduction when fourth behind Sabre d'Argent over this trip at Newmarket's Craven meeting. The son of Woodman is entitled to improve for the experience and this represents a significant ease in grade. Spuradich represents an in-form yard and shaped with potential when placed in similar company at Windsor earlier in the month. Luca Cumani's colt found trouble in running on that occasion and remains capable of better while Sir Sydney is bred to appreciate the step up in trip and can't be ruled out. Sir Michael Stoute's Strategy makes plenty of appeal on paper being by Machiavellian out of a winning Shirley Heights mare and should be noted in the exchanges.
