In depth

Formwatch

First Truth Has been tried over a variety of trips this season and seems suited by a mile; goes on any ground and chance if in the mood.

Munadil Has made steady if unspectacular progress in recent outings culminating in victory at Epsom last time out; improvement needed again but that is feasible.

Blue Planet (IRE) Much improved effort last time out at Newbury; step up in trip a slight concern but has a chance if enjoying the extra two furlongs.

Dusty Carpet Excellent effort at Chester last time out but form is up and down; obviously likes going left handed and could squeak a place.

Just Murphy (IRE) Consistent type who handles any surface; has the ability to land this and looks likely to go close.

Ballet Master (USA) Trainer does not seem to know his best trip probably as this horse tends to run well at all trips he has tried; must have excellent chance if reproducing John Smith Cup form.

Lafayette (IRE) Another consistent type who is capable of winning this sort of contest; trainer could be in better form.
