Verdict

PRETTY DIAMOND may have been beaten at odds-on last time but still sets the standard. It may have been that the idiosyncratic nature of the Windsor track didn't suit that day but she only went down narrowly and should be much more at home on this stiff, galloping course. She certainly stuck on well when scoring readily at Beverley on her previous outing. Madison Square hasn't shown much since a satisfactory debut last term but should appreciate both trip and ground and the American-bred colt rates the main danger for his in-form yard. There's little to choose between the remaining trio, of which Dew Reward is a narrow preference for the minor placing.
