In depth

Verdict

Flying Clarets edges a slender vote of confidence over Mistress Twister and Danehill Dazzler. It would also be interesting to note support for Gaelic Princess now that she is set to encounter firmer ground and she would be dangerous to underestimate. Danehill Dazzler is an honest filly that doesn't have too many miles on the clock. She does need to prove herself capable on the ground, though. Market confidence will be the best gauge on that level. Mistress Twister was progressive going into a race at York 9 days ago and it would be harsh to judge her by the way she performed on that occasion. She is much better than that and has a solid chance if she puts her mind to the task in hand today. However, Flying Clarets relished the conditions at the Knavesmire last weekend and, as she is obviously at the top of her game, she is fancied to give her in-form yard plenty more to shout about this afternoon.
