Verdict

Carthaginian won his maiden at Newcastle earlier this month and should figure on his handicap bow. He makes more appeal than the more exposed Mark Johnston-trained pair Salutation and Love Marmalade though Haylaman will prove tougher to beat after a good effort at Chester last time. However, the latter wears his owners second colours as the first are sported by GABRIAL THE GREAT. The latter has joined Luca Cumani this season and after a couple of decent efforts in better company than this, he looks set for a return to winning ways.
